Get your child to improve their GCSE chemistry mock exam grade
Stop worrying about your child getting into their chosen sixth-form and how you can best support them to get the required grade.
Instead, book your child on to GCSE chemistry group tutoring sessions that will reduce knowledge gaps, get your child to engage in chemistry learning, and practise exam-style questions, so your child is ready for the summer exams while building up your child’s confidence, and providing them with the ability to succeed in chemistry, reducing your stress levels.
Your child is anxious and disappointed
...by their GCSE Chemistry mock grade
despite working hard putting in the revision
...struggling to improve
to get the grade they need.
You want your child to succeed so…

You have brought the textbooks and revision guides for your child to use
BUT you realised that your child is not making the most of them either sitting unused or spending time just reading through the content without really retaining any information.

Maybe you have tried helping your child with their chemistry studies
BUT chemistry was not one of your best subjects at school and so you are struggling to help them or your child is not really wanting to work with you.
Perhaps you feel unable to support your child as you do not know about the educational system in England.

Your child is using online revision websites or webinairs
BUT your child is still struggling to answer examination questions or does not understand why their answers are not scoring marks in assessments.
Your child is unable to get additional support to help them understand a topic.
You need help to get your child the GCSE Chemistry grade they need for next year.
I dare you to imagine this…
You are no longer worried about GCSE results day and your child’s chemistry grade, as your child has the key knowledge, exam skills and confidence to succeed in their chemistry exams this summer?
I’ll show you exactly how I can make this happen
I have been teaching GCSE Chemistry since 2006, an examiner since 2012 and I started tutoring in 2017. During that time I have helped hundreds of students to get the GCSE grades they need, so they can take their next step.

About Me

I have been passionate about chemistry since secondary school and was inspired by my chemistry teacher. This resulted in me studying chemistry at A-level and completing a degree.
After working in the chemical / pharmaceutical industry for 13 years, I retrained as a teacher to encourage students to pursue chemistry-based careers.
✅ I am a qualified chemistry teacher and I have excellent subject knowledge from teaching for over 15 years. During my teaching career, I have taught in a wide variety of schools including comprehensive and grammar.
✅ I know what examiners are looking for as I have been an examiner for over 10 years.
✅ I know the best strategies to get students to learn whilst online from my MA in Online and Distance Education from the Open University.
Making improvements is not always easy
Understanding the needs of my students and tailoring the tutoring to their individual needs has always been my philosophy.
Chemistry is not an easy subject to study “or teach
“
There are three main challenges:
Your child needs to have the essential chemical knowledge built up as topics progress whilst studying GCSE chemistry. Earlier knowledge is required to understand later topics.
Chemistry has its ‘own language’ and your child must be able to write formulae for chemical substances and use them to write chemical equations for familiar and unfamiliar reactions so can use in chemical calculations.
Your child may understand the basic concepts of chemistry but not how to apply their knowledge to unfamiliar situations and so struggles in examinations.
Over my years of teaching, I have applied various methods to help my students revise for their GCSE chemistry exams.
Focusing on tricky topics in revision sessions - but students did not have the understanding of some basic topics so did not help them progress.
Focusing on understanding specific examples - rather than extending to unfamiliar examples so that students can apply their understanding.
Focusing on helping students individually - but not being able to help all the students needing to improve.
That made me realise.
I need to find a way that students can have an effective revision strategy in the build-up to their exams.
And that’s when it hit me…
To create an online revision group programme of study that ensures that students in Year 11 can improve on their mock exam results
This works so well as …
Ready-made schedule so students have a weekly focus for their revision.
Additional resources provided so can reduce knowledge gaps and apply understanding to new areas.
Opportunity to ask for additional help if stuck in a particular area.
And it even allows me, to help more students throughout England to do well in their exams.

Let me show you how it works
in three simple steps…

I use these steps to split the programme into three parts…

Part 1
Understand Essential Chemistry Basics

Part 2
Explain Chemical Reactions Using Equations

Part 3
Build Chemical Knowledge & Understanding
Can this really work? It sure can!
Just see some of the improvements by my previous students

Frequently asked Questions
Q: What exam boards will be covered? Is combined science chemistry/separate chemistry included?
A: The major exam boards (AQA, OCR & Edexcel) for both separate (triple) and the chemistry component of combined sciences are covered.
Q: How much support is included?
A: There are 16 weekly online lessons. Your child will also be invited to a Google Classroom where your child will be able to access resources and ask any questions or get support from me between lessons.
Q: What computer specification will I need?
A: Online live meetings are via Zoom and so your child will need access to a computer and internet connection that meets minimum requirements as in this link. This computer should have a microphone and webcam.
Q: How is the program delivered? Is it a course? Is it live?
A: The programme is delivered live (either Monday at 5 pm or Wednesday at 6.30 pm). If your child cannot join a lesson then a recording will be made available so that they can still complete that week.
Q: When does it start? When will the lessons be?
A: You will immediately receive a confirmation email once you sign up, but Week 1 starts w/c 9/1/23. You will be asked to send more details about your child, including preferred live lesson time and then just before we start you will get details on how your child can access the Google Classroom and Zoom lesson.
Q: Can I switch between Monday and Wednesday live lessons?
A: Once a particular day is chosen it will remain the same throughout the programme, to limit the number of students in each session. It may be possible to make a permanent change (if space) contact me to find out.
Q: What happens if my child cannot attend a live session for example if unwell?
A: No need to worry the session will be recorded and then when your child is well will be able to watch a recording and be able to access resources.
